News Apple Releases Firmware Updates for MacBook and MacBook Pro Tuesday, December 8, 2009 - 7:08 PM EST Posted by: Glenn Apple has released MacBook EFI Firmware Update 1.4 and MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.8 via their Software Update utility and website. According to the company, these updates eliminate the noise made by the optical disk drive during system startup and wake from sleep on MacBook and MacBook Pro computers. Once installed, users should also install the SuperDrive Firmware Update 3.0 to complete the update process.
