Sonnet Intros Carapace Keyboard Covers
Tuesday, November 7, 2006 - 7:20 PM EST

Sonnet Technologies today announced Carapace, its line of high-quality silicone keyboard covers for MacBook Pro, PowerBook G4, and MacBook notebooks. Carapace is custom-molded to protect the keyboard from dust, dirt and spills while allowing normal typing. Compatible with both 78-key (U.S. ANSI) and 79-key (ISO) keyboards, Carapace is easy to install and remove, withstands heavy typing and prolonged use, and is simple to clean.

According to the company, "A notebook computer's primary benefit-portability-can also prove to be its biggest liability-greater exposure to potentially damaging debris like food, beverages, dust and dirt. Carapace offers protection in the form of a thin, clear, durable silicone skin that perfectly encloses each key to prevent debris from falling in the spaces between. With Carapace in place, typing speed and accuracy are unaffected-its thin and flexible construction provides a clear view of the keys, dampens the sound of keystrokes, and takes the worry out of typing on the go"

Carapace for MacBook Pro and PowerBook G4 is priced at US$19.95 and is available immediately. Carapace for MacBook will cost $19.95 and will be available November 28th.
