Review: MacBook Air
Macworld - "Laptop design has always been about compromise. Though they've come a long way in the past few years, laptops have never been able to offer the features available in desktop computers, and certainly not at comparable prices. In order to squeeze an entire computer into a portable shell (and have it be power-efficient enough to run on a battery for hours at a time), computer makers have to throw features overboard. And the smaller and lighter the laptop, the more compromise there needs to be."

SSD-powered MacBook Pro wait is (almost) over
Computerworld - "The MacBook Pro updates are right around the corner. Some reliable sources indicate that they may be as close as two weeks away while others put the delivery date as far out as mid-March. Likely features include the larger, multi-touch trackpad, brighter LED screens, mobile Penryn processors and the all-important Solid State Drives (SSD). The LED screens (new to the 17inch model), mobile Penryn Processor and SSD drives should contribute favorably to an extended battery life as well. "

MacBook Air Tear Down
Gizmodo - "As soon as we got our MacBook Air, we couldn't help but want to tear it down to its innards. We wanted to see what made up this beautiful machine, so we grabbed our #00 phillips screwdriver and had at it. Want to know what we found? The sexiest and simplest notebook has the sexiest and simplest construction (you'll be surprised at how easy the battery comes out). Not only was this thin thing amazingly easy to dissemble, it was even gorgeous on the inside."

Review: Apple MacBook Air
PC Magazine - "Browsing through Apple's growing list of products, you'll find there's no shortage of lightweight yet still powerful laptops that rival, and to some extent surpass, many of their Windows counterparts. For instance, there are the MacBook Pro 17-inch and 15-inch laptops, arguably the lightest in their respective categories. But for quite some time now, Apple fanatics have been calling for something that can actually be classified as an ultraportable, something that breaks the 4-pound barrier. Finally, Apple has answered with the Apple MacBook Air ($1,799 direct)."
